As most of you have already heard, a small hate group is planning to come to Hays next month. Director Tony Smith has already stated our position about this group. But I want to make it very clear, if any individual feels strongly and wants to protest or counter-protest this group they have that right as individuals. However no member of the American Legion Family can wear any American Legion Emblem or represent the American Legion without the American Legions consent. Which has not been given for this protest. We have been asked by several people already to counter-protest this group as we are part of this community and others have asked why we can do other events in the community but not this one. As Legion Riders we have many missions but the most important is (Riding to honor fallen military men and women, and to protect the sanctity of their funerals from those who would dishonor their memory.) This is where many of you have seen or heard of the Legion Riders and our dealing with WBC. You may also see us out helping charities and other non-profit groups. Or maybe at a community parade. We ride in local parades to help promote patriotism, proper flag etiquette, and to just let the community know there are veterans and veterans groups right here in your area that need your help and support.
