As most of you hopefully know, this weekend marks the beginning of our AZAA Basketball season! To preview the teams competing this season, every day this week leading up to this Sunday, I will preview a chapters team! Tonight, well look at the team from Abe Pollin/MoCo AZA. Abe Pollin had a subpar season this past year, and they are excited to be playing with the newly formed MoCo AZA this year. Led by dead-on 3-point shooter Cole Margol last year, Abe Pollin had trouble keeping up with the other squads. Yet despite it all, they had a great time and played hard every week. The real star of the Abe Pollin/MoCo squad this season will be Center Adam Panda Levengard, a player known for being a literal beast on the boards, fighting through contact and finishing strong. When asking about his nickname Panda, I was informed that the nickname was actually given to him by his parents after they found him living with a wild herd of pandas as a child. Teammate Sam Margol added that he is the natural replacement for his star older brother, noting that on the court they call me Cole 2.0. The new and improved Cole. With the experience he gained last year at YLI, Margol is ready to assume the role of team leader beside Jules Jacobs, the undeniable leader of the MoCo part of the team. Star Players: Matt Popeck, Marco Weil, Adam Panda Levengard X-Factor: Guppy Fishman Rising Star: Sam Margol Strengths: Inside game, Having fun, Fitness, Team spirit When asked about Abe Pollin/Mocos chances of a title this season, a giddy Sam Margol exclaimed WERE GONNA GET THE MOST TOUCHDOWNS. Margol quite possibly was flashing back to the lone touchdown Pollin/MoCo scored during AZAA football. Look out tomorrow for a preview of another big contender, Melech AZA!
