As most of you know, 2014 is the 100th Anniversary of the founding of the Tioga County Historical Society. They are in the process of putting together special exhibits and displays in celebration. A major part of this project is the inclusion of historic representations of life in 1914, including the building of three rooms: a general store, a schoolhouse, and a home interior (tentatively a bedroom). They would like to build the three rooms, adjoining in the main gallery, as simply and as inexpensively as possible. We are in need of materials (2x4’s, 2x2 lumber), screws, drills and maybe nail guns. Possibly some plywood, OSB board, paneling and rolls of cardboard. Most importantly, skilled labor to help build this project as inexpensively and sturdily as possible. Also, if anyone knows a carpenter or contractor who would be willing to help, please let us know.
