As most of you know Baby B was born June 26, 2014 at 1121am. He was a beautiful 6pounds 13ounces & 19inches long. He was totally healthy so we thought...one thing led to another & the next afternoon (Friday) he was being airlifted to Childrens Hospital. He was diagnosed with TEF (transesophgeal fistula) which is (long story short) where his esophagus doesnt connect like its supposed to and his trachea reconnected, which it isnt supposed to. On that following Monday (June 30) he has surgery to repair the fistula. Fast forward to his 2 week birthday (today) he has been on the ventilator twice since surgery & is supposed to be taken off of it today & hopefully they will do his esophogram (a swallow study using due & X-ray to make sure the surgery site is sealed & there isnt any leaking) tomorrow so we can know everything is healed. IF there are no leaks we will start slow feedings tomorrow & then once he is eating they will take out his chest tubes so he can wear clothes & mommy/daddy can hold him again! I will post more updates daily but wanted to get everyone caught up. :) We appreciate all the thoughts, prayers & assistance we have been given. Its amazing the support we have.
