As most of you know, being a Paramedic is career number two for me. I have worked hard both during and after my law enforcement career to provide a good, loving and safe home for my family. We made sacrifices so Diane could, by her own choice, be the stay at home Mom she dreamed of being and did so very well. Without her support as my safe harbor in any storm, I...WE...could not have done it. Our children reflect the love in our home and have grown to be successful individuals. I hope that hard work and professional ethics set an example for them. After all Diane went through, my appreciation for life is greater than ever and I know what matters. As a result, I feel it is time to step back a little and take a bit more time for us. Last week, I submitted my resignation from my Per Diem spot at Virtua MICU, to be effective in two weeks. It has a been a pleasure to serve the people of Camden and Burlington County and to have worked with some exceptional people. In particular, my Chief, Sharon DeFrancisco and her assistants, Nila and Jamie, have been wonderful to me. I want to thank my co-workers as well as the BLS squads and hospital staffs I have had the honor of working with over these years. I will be remaining part of the clinical education staff as a Per Diem Instructor and am remaining on the street full time covering Cumberland, Gloucester and Salem counties, but again, I am ready to spend more time enjoying life with my family and caring for my Mom and step-Dad as they face the challenges that come with being in their mid-80s. I will miss seeing you all on the streets, but will be around to maybe enjoy a cold one with you, free of having to run out at a moments notice. Please be safe out there and God Bless.
