As most of you know, the Houston County Courier has been under new management since March. We still are in a transitional stage. Editor Lynda Jones is pleased to announce her decision today (Wednesday, Aug. 6) that we will no longer publish photos of vehicle crashes in print, on the Internet or through any social media. It is the opinion of the editor and the office staff at the Courier that such photos are unnecessary in a community newspaper. Instead, we prefer to start publishing a photo of any victims (if available) with a tribute to them, recognizing their interests and community contributions, giving families and friends a positive remembrance of their loved ones at a painful time in their lives.
