As most people know, I have been covering Western Days for 30 years. In the time that I have done that, I dont recall seeing attendance during the late afternoon on Saturday as high as I saw it. Normally attendance is at its highest right after the parade. This time there was a steady stream of visitors, well into the late afternoon. I dont know whether it was the cooler weather, the great publicity for the event, or a combination of factors.
