As most people know, the economy in the u.s. since 2007 has been in steady decline, affecting poor and working people the most, as usual. Part time and temporary work have sky rocketed and, since these jobs usually offer no benefits, workers are left with no paid time off, no health care, low wages and little or no possibility for a more prosperous future. Contrary to racist stereotypes, most Afrikan workers are forced to work more than one job in order to survive. Many work 2 or 3 part time jobs, spending the day in a rat-race induced haze, hustling from job-to-job on buses, subways, trains and in broken down cars. Recapturing our sovereignty and self-determination may seem like a steep mountain to climb to some, however, we must know that our destination is in sight. The efforts and sacrifices of our Ancestors are not in vain. As it has been said, “The First shall be Last and the Last Shall be First”. So, the balance is maintained. We will soon leave the bottom rung. Hard Work Must Work For Everyone!
