As mothers day approaches I was just sitting here thinking about two of the most influential women in my life. They amazing enough were both Leos with birthdays six days apart, only years apart. If you would have known them you would have thought they were related. My great-aunt raised me to love God and treat people like you want to be treated.She insisted that I attend church and read my bible and pray nightly. The only problem was that I was missing a father figure. I never lived with a male in the house until I was eleven years old.Looking back on my life I spent 19 years of my life looking for that father figure. Through one abusive relationship after another, looking in the bars for someone who had the same values and wanted to build a life for themselves and my children and me. How many years I wasted looking for a man to give me the security my life never had.Security that no earthly man could give. God is our father, or mother or whatever is missing in your life. God so loving and kind that he blessed me to find after all that searching the man he created and destined just for me. Along with this husband he also allowed me to meet the second most influential woman in my Life, my mother-in-law Missionary Willie Mae Jackson. She was one of the most amazing women I have ever known, she was a true example of life as a mother,a wife, and a woman of God. She was always there with a sympathetic ear and words of wisdom. Both of these amazing women have gone home, but thanks to them and the lessons they taught live on everyday in my heart and more importantly in my actions. I strive to be the woman God is calling me to be and the woman that they can sit back and say thats some of my teaching.May all the mothers have a Happy Mothers Day.
