As much as I begrudge Quentin Tarantino his mark on modern movies, because I think his own are mostly terrible, Ill admit, he really vitalized cinematic high referentiality. Watching BREAKING BAD for the first time (and loving it, of course) the meta-BREAKING BAD episode in season four, with the nod to THE FRENCH CONNECTION, is just wonderful. So nerdy and academic. Also, this show tracks marvelously with Bergmans SCENES FROM A MARRIAGE.
