As much as I believe in the power of love and community, frankly, our own well being in the long run comes down to us and what we go after. I was reminded very sharply again of this fact recently. I continue to try and lean in to things only to be pleasantly or unpleasantly surprised by peoples interpretation of word, honor and commitment. Everything always happens for us and not against us, without question. The challenge, for me is, how many times can I/we continue to have faith in a system outside of our control, and surrender to it without feeling guarded or overprotecting of me/mine/whats in it for me. If a system is inherently set up that way, it leaves us no choice but to mimic that model and look out for our own best interests. Im normally so we focused and care for all involved. When decisions become so bottom line, it feels like the old paradigm of get what you can, and quickly! Only serving the machine...
