As much as I dislike the idea of family dynasties in any public office..... or the sole control of a Sheriff office by carrer police. .... I distrust the idea of executive appointment even more. Yes, defeating Rovenstine was the goal...... But I would rather have HIM in office as sheriff than any non-elected or appointed state shill. If you think family dynasties are bad (they are)..... then you want NOTHING to do with an appointed , SINGLE DICTATOR over county affairs. Even if I didnt win, or even if Rovenstine was an opponent, Id still rather have him in as an ELECTED Sheriff, as opposed to the appointment of a CSAR, where the public has absolutely NO choice. Dont EVER allow legislators or anyone to dissolve the office of sheriff in favor of an appointment.
