As much as Slayer and Metallica influenced our first records musically, it was Corrosion Of Conformity, MDC and DRI that influenced our lyrics. There is obviously stuff on Ignorance that still has a Slayer influence but that stuff was written when I was 16. As I got a bit older and my worldview broadened I was more focused on the state of world affairs. I always felt we had an audience and an opportunity to shine a light on some things I thought were important. Early on it was politics and the boldface lies of the government. As we progressed the focus became more personal. I still think it is important to stand up to the government and stick to what you believe. I also believe that as long as we harbor anger, hatred and resentment inside of us the chance for true lasting change is limited. There is no government n the planet that can legislate peace, kindness and understanding. That is up to each of us. Thank you so much for reading and I hope you all enjoy your weekend. Peace, Phil
