As much as giving Mr president ultimatum and a condition for recontesting the seat of the president by the northern elders is uncalled for, the centre piece of their message is not. The abducted girls regaining their freedom is not negotiable and the demand for their freedom by the northern elders is in perfect order and I align myself with them on that. However what I wont support is the idea of Jonathan securing the girls for the purpose of getting a re-election endorsement from the northern elders for that is callous. Mr president is expected to do his constitutional required duties, part of which is the safety of lives and properties of the citizens which the abducted school girls are part and parcel of. Therefore no condition should be attached for Mr president to do his job. The northern elders did well be sounding it loud and clear to Mr president that efforts should be intensified towards the rescue of those our daughters abducted close to four months now by the satanic sect that goes by the name boko harams. Having said that, the northern elders should also know that the issue of the Chibok girls is not just the affairs or pains of the northerners to bear but that of the whole country and even the international community. We all are in this together and not the other way round, I believe the girls will regain their freedom sooner than later. God is able. Shalom
