As musicians, whenever we try to book a gig we always have to hear whining about how bad the economy is. When was it ever good? People were even whining about the coming recession in the 1950s. As to my experience, I worked more during the Carter administration than ever. So far my understanding of a bad economy is when rich peoples profit margin isnt good from a previous year and/or the poor and middle class have a little more money. When the greedy rich make more money and the poor and middle class suffer then the economy is good. Still, to reiterate, for musicians the economy is never good.
