As my time in rehab comes to an end (tomorrow morning), I head - TopicsExpress

As my time in rehab comes to an end (tomorrow morning), I head home to continue getting to 100. I just wanted to genuinely thank each and every one of you for your support throughout the process. My family and I have been amazed by the amount of support. Your prayers, kind words, and love helped me unimaginable amounts. I remember when I was first coming to at Yale, I would have my mom read your messages every day when she visited. I continue to check every day. Although it’s been an incredibly tough process, I consider it a blessing in disguise, as George Massoud told me weeks ago over the phone. I have discovered new strengths that I did not know existed and my family has come incredibly closer. I’ve also met some great people along the way, like Alyssa Yardis, Michael Francis Buan, Kaitlin Moran, Tim Kilbride, Erika Cerrone, Erika Schramm, to name a few! It also has revealed how good we as humans really are. The fact that so many people can come together to help somebody is awe-inspiring. I have never been prouder to call Wallingford my hometown. It’s also been a very sobering experience. I have been so grateful for the amount of support, but I’ve seen so many people in these hospitals that have overcome even more. One of them is a friend Shane Mosko from Gaylord. Right after he made the decision to join the Coast Guard, he was involved in a car accident that left him in a similar state to me - he was hooked up to a ventilator, paralyzed, etc. He’s come incredibly far and is still fighting, and I ask you guys to keep him in your prayers as he continues to get stronger! You can read more about his story here (https://giveforward/fundraiser/5tl1/shanemoskorecoveryfund and shanesrecovery.wordpress/). And again, I just want to thank every single one of you for your love, prayers, and support. It’s been unbelievable. You guys have no idea what you’ve done for me! Finally, I want to acknowledge my entire family (especially my mom, who’s been here every single one of the 86 days I’ve been in hospitals). Everybody - my father, brother, sisters, grandparents, cousins, aunts, uncles, great aunts and uncles, second cousins - have made me realize how lucky I am. So, my family and I thank you all again. Keep spreading the love & God Bless!
