As of Jan. 18 the Birtle Cross Country Ski Trail has been freshly groomed and is ready to go. All of the windfall trees after our 80 -90 km winds were removed. Hopefully the weather will cooperate for the rest of winter . Below is a link to a quick map of the Birtle Ski Trail. The trail consists of 4 loops. The Katimavik Loop starts in the Birtle Park and is 5 km total. Additional loops are: The Big Rock (1.5 km); Valleyview (2.5 km); and Wady Loop (5.5km). The total trail is approximately 15 km. The trail is unpatrolled so PLEASE USE REGULAR OUTDOOR SAFETY PRACTICES. Anyone a little nervous of the hills can give Jeff Howard a call. I you hop on the trail at their yard you have quick access to the cabin and the Big Rock Loop that have no hills.
