As of January 1, 2015 Michigan direct access to Physical Therapy law is officially in effect!!!! What does that mean? You no longer need a physicians prescription to receive physical therapy treatment!! The law allows 21 days or 10 treatments (which ever comes first) billable to insurance. Of course, not all insurance companies are going to cooperate but we will continue to verify coverage before beginning treatment. It also states that for those who choose to pay directly there is no time or treatment limit! Depending on your annual deductible and co pay the cash option may actually be more affordable!
