As of Wednesday, 16 October 2013, 0945 hours Japan Standard Time (JST), Yokota AB will assume TCCOR 1 Recovery. Based on the Joint Typhoon Warning Centers Forecast, Tropical Storm 25W is located approximately 205 nautical miles northeast of Yokota AB, Japan. The storm is estimated to have sustained winds 55 knots gusting to 70 knots (63 miles per hour gusting to 81 miles per hour) near its center and is moving northeast at 30 knots (35 miles per hour). Definition of TCCOR 1 Recovery: After the passage of a tropical cyclone when destructive winds have subsided, work and survey crews are sent out to determine the extent of damage and to establish safe zones around hazards (e.g. downed power lines, unstable structures). Until the recovery process is declared complete, the general base population would normally be asked to remain indoors. Duty sections are directed to implement TCCOR 1R checklists, in accordance with IEMP 10-2, and any other applicable checklists. Personnel and families should stay alert and continue to monitor AFN television and radio announcements guidance and changes in TCCOR conditions. This message is for Tropical Storm 25W (Wipha).
