As of today, I am embarrassed and saddened in a manner of speaking, to be a Nigerian. Another batch of innocent, defenseless human beings captured, tormented beyond words. Another bombing in the FCT. As a patriotic citizen, I am supposed to have confidence in my countrys leaders. Instead I find a shameful, unparalleled greed and self service, complete insensitivity to the plight of the young, the undeserving many who have completely lost their peace and humble security. The labor of our heroes past daily rendered vain and mocked beyond belief. I feel utterly helpless and frustrated that all I can do is pray from the comfort of my cozy home, in the loving embrace of my husband and children. I know prayer works but surely, there must be a spiritually, yet physically effective way of dealing with this reproach once, for all and finally? Please, am I by myself? In finally appreciating what my fellow Americans celebrate, when we celebrate our military personnel who radically lay down their lives to protect us from all enemies foreign and domestic? So that I can sleep and live in peace and safety? When and where will this unholy, baffling madness end? Abi, please am I the only one thats looking around, wondering what in the world is going on?
