As of today, October 21st, the Embassies of the Netherlands, Croatia and the French Treasury Regional Office are officially sharing one building. At a special ceremony today on 15 “Oborishte” street in Sofia, the National flag of Croatia has been raised in the presence of Mrs. Andreja Metelko Zgombić, Assistant Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of Croatia (appointed by the Government), the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria Mrs. Katya Todorova, and the ambassadors of Croatia, Mrs. Ljerka Alajbeg, the Netherlands Mr. Tom van Oorschot and France, Mr. Xavier Lapeyre de Cabanes. “This is the first co-location Croatia ever agreed in any of the states and we consider it as an excellent decision not only from financial and organisational point of view, but also as a way to promote close relationships with the states we share this co-location”, said in her address Mrs. Zgombić. Ambassdor Alajbeg expressed her satisfaction with the smooth process of the co-location and thanked the Netherlands Embassy for making this co-location possible. “We are very happy that the Embassy of Croatia and the French regional economic mission moved in our building. It shows a new approach to the cooperation between Embassies and is part of the modernization of diplomacy of the Netherlands. By co-locating with our new colleagues we would like to promote a spirit of friendship and good cooperation”, pointed Ambassador Van Oorschot. Ambassador de Cabanes stated that he sees the collocation as an extension of the friendship between the countries and a sign of development and deepening of the European spirit.
