As often happens with these Top 25 Christmas Countdown lists, Tom and I always line up perfectly on a few days. So for #21 in Tom and Gordons Top 25 Christmas Character Countdown I give you...my take on A Christmas Carol. When I originally made my list, I wrote A Christmas Carol in my notes...but I wasnt sure which character stood out the most. Given my recent movie habits, I thought maybe The Great Gonzo as Charles Dickens in the Muppet Christmas Carol...and then I started thinking about the book...finally my mind turned to the Indiana Repertory Theatre production that we see each year as part of our Christmas tradition. Then I thought of all my friends in that and their awesome portrayals of the characters...and I couldnt figure out who to single out. Ryan as scrooge? Chuck as scrooge? Robert as anybody? The list kept going...and then it hit me. A wise mentor once told me that a set is not acted on, a set is acted with. (Actually, I have no recollection of somebody telling me that, but Ill be using it in my classes.) So I give you the character of the lovely, snowy, winter wonderland as created by Russell for IRTs production of A Christmas Carol.
