As one might deduce from my previous two posts, my community lost power for several hours, last night. I believe power was restored roughly 6 hours after it went down, quite suddenly, at about 9:00 PM (30 Aug 2014). While I usually view power outages as a large inconvenience, last nights mostly clear sky made for a perfect photo op. While the sky in my community was very dark, the few clouds that did drift through were given an orange tint, reflecting the lights from nearby communities that were not affected by the power outage. From 10:00 PM to 10:45 PM, I grabbed 150 photographs of the night sky, each exposure lasting for 15 seconds. I assembled these 150 images into a time-lapse video. 45 minutes worth of 15-second exposures, condensed down to a 10-second time-lapse. And actually, I think it looks pretty cool. Hope you agree.
