As only WE could pull off logistically, next Saturday morning the October Advanced guys, who started training today, graduate and depart for the Airport with myself, Diane and another SEAL Tom Black, to run the dive course in Puerto Rico for 27-men. While all that chaos is happening, 16 other brave souls are arriving here in Virginia for the Combat Shooting Course run by SEAL Chief White and SEAL Chief Gallaher. When we return from Puerto Rico we have a week to relax and enjoy life before the final Advanced course of the year begins on November 9th. (Relax and enjoy life= BUSTING ASS AROUND HERE GETTING READY) The two hardest courses we run each year for Hell Night/Advanced are the April and November courses and all the hard cases and gluttons for punishment show up for and extra KICK in the Jimmies for those two courses. On Hell Night in April, the guys want out of the water as the air temp is warmer than the water temp. In November a 180 takes place as the air temp is colder and the water temp warmer and guys prefer being in the water to stay warmer. In the end, each man reaches deeper in those two courses of the year but the good news is the mosquitoes and ticks are gone. The November course, the final one of 2013 is a strange one as well. Well run the November Advanced from the 9th through the 16th and also begin the Combat Shooting Course on Saturday the 16th when the Advanced Course ends. The Combat Shooting Course ends on Wednesday the 20th of November and the 5-day course costs $1250. extremesealexperience/860.h.COMBAT_SHOOTING_COURSE When the van leaves on Wednesday morning at the conclusion of the Shooting Course to take guys back to the airport it signifies THE END of a very tough 2013 here. The very minute the van leaves with everyone safe itll be ETOH QD PRN until the 2014 courses begin as we’ve EARNED IT. You can Google ETOH QD PRN for those non medical folks who dont understand it. Four final things for the final November course. 1. I have seats available for the week long Advanced course. 2. We are taking guys who just want to do Hell Night alone in November. 3. There are seats available for the Combat Shooting Course on the 16th. 4. Women can attend the Combat Shooting course. Guys are beating me up for the 2014 course dates but I wont know anything until after Puerto Rico. My buddy, former SEAL Tom Black (Tom Black = I broke my back on the Parachute Team and kept jumping for another two months before complaining) and I are also scouring Puerto Rico during the dive course for a few areas for Close Quarter Combat and the possibility of running Dive and Close Quarter Combat courses in Puerto Rico next year are high.
