As part of its Transnational Blackness Series, The Africana - TopicsExpress

As part of its Transnational Blackness Series, The Africana Studies Program at TEXAS A&M UNIVERSITY will be screening The Garifuna In Peril Movie TOMORROW (Tuesday, November 19th 2013) at 5pm. Co-director/Co-producer/Lead Actor Ruben Reyes will be at the University as a Distinguished Guest and will participate in a panel discussion on the film. He will also visit a few classes as a Guest Speaker and join Students and Faculty at an informal lunch and dinner. Overall, this is a fine opportunity to not only talk about this unique movie, but share aspects of Garifuna culture and history to people who most likely are unaware of the existence of the Garifuna people and the unique position of Garifuna people as Black People in the Americas. The movie will be screened at The Rudder Tower in Room 707 at 5pm. Texas A&M University is located in College Station, Texas. According to a map that I looked at, College Station, Texas is about 96.9 miles northwest of Houston. It is about an hour and a half away.
