As part of our Guilty Pleasure , we will be reviewing Rush Hour series of movies which ran through 1998 to 2007. It starred Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan spanning over 3 Movies , when the movie started both Jackie and Chris were up and coming , this was a buddy cop action film which was banking on diversity to become unique mainly because that decade was filled with Cop movies such as Lethal Weapon and Eddie Murphys Beverly Hills Cop which were both hugely successful and had a high follow up potential. Originally the director wanted the movie to be based around diversity but not to the extent that jokes were made out of it , if you watch the movie carefully the cultural jokes itself were few and far between but most funny moments came out of actions. Their contrasting styles ( Tucker is a speaker and aggressive Chan is a man of few words while being calm ) with a fresh script made for a good first film , Chan adjusting to the American lifestyle ( while Tucker trying his hands on Chinese in the second part ) was also good. But script-wise the movie became repetitive and couldnt find something fresh. Overall the ratings we give are as follows :- 1. Rush Hour - 8.5/10 2. Rush Hour 2 - 7/10 3. Rush Hour 3 - 6/10
