As part of the Harlem Hellfighters, former Army Sergeant Henry Johnson fought off a German attack despite his severe wounds, killing four enemy soldiers and wounding a dozen more. Yesterday, the House passed the national defense bill that included a provision that will allow World War I Army hero Sgt. Henry Johnson to receive the Medal of Honor nearly a century after his battlefield bravery. Passage of the bill in the Senate is expected next week.
