As part of the WW1 commemorative event on the 2nd August at St - TopicsExpress

As part of the WW1 commemorative event on the 2nd August at St Laurence Church, Long Eaton we are wanting to display flags of the countries who were involved in the war. Most flags in the past 100 years have remained the same but there are a few that have changed and we are really struggling to locate Australia, New Zealand and Canada from 1914 as these are three countries whose flags have changed quite considerably... We know its a long shot but you never know what people hoard in cupboards! If anyone has has any of the flags listed or knows where we can get them from please get in touch on the Long Eaton Civic Society FaceBook page or on twitter @LEcivicsociety! While we are here, if you wish to get involved in volunteering on the day of the event we need women for flag selling to compliment the volunteers we have and also cake making, church decorating, guiding visitors on the day to the various activities, walks and stands. Its going to be an educational and interesting day about the role our town played in the shadow of the outbreak of war. We also are looking for wicker hand baskets if anyone has to loan us for the day? Look forward to hearing from you!
