As part of the vintage process our Winemaking team sets aside their chosen ‘Winemakers Selection’ fruit from our older vineyard plantings. The team then applies their winemaking skills to those parcels to deliver a limited-release, premium wine of distinctive character that sets their own standard. Commencing with our Reds in 2012, this year they have selected a White as well, being Marsanne from our older vineyard plantings – including our 1927 block. Their objective with this release is to craft a wine that will bring approachable citrus, tropical & mineral characters of our early release Marsanne, but with a healthy dash of older vine complexity. They have also decided to put a little bit of age on the wine as well to further enhance its intricacy with the 2014 vintage selection destined for release in 2017.
