As part of the voter list updating programme, the draft voter list of the newly registered over 4.6 million voters is finally ready for publication. The draft list will be published tomorrow, the 2nd of January, 2015 throughout the country. The draft voter list will be available at the office of the District Election Officers, Upazila Election Officers, Union Parishad Offices, City Corporation Ward offices, Paurashava Offices and at the office of the revising authority ( REO, DEO , ADC/ADM, UNO). The draft voter list will also be published in the websites of the Election Commission. Anyone can login to the following web address and see the draft voterlist: ec.org.bd ; ecs.gov.bd ; or nidservices.gov.bd. The draft voter list is published for public scrutiny. In case any eligible citizen is left out, he or she can apply to the revising authority for inclusion in the voter list. If there is any mistake or error in the list, application can be submitted for correction. On the other hand, if it is found that some name appears in the list who is not eligible to be a voter, for example, a foreign national, complaint can be lodged with the revising authority for striking off his name. This can be done until 17 January, 2015 after the draft is published. The revising authority will dispose of the applications after due enquiry by 22 January, 2015. The final voter list will be published on January 31, 2015.
