As per a recent survey conducted in India, the Knowledge Process Outsourcing (KPO) units will need more than 2 lakh CA professionals by 2019 where as of now, there are about 1.5 lakh chartered accountants in the country and the churn out every year is about 10,000. There will be some addition to the total number of CA professionals in the country after the CA Final results are declared today. Survey also concluded that Chartered Accountancy is now positioned as an alternative to the much sought-after engineering, considering the way corporate colleges are mushrooming and imparting training for attempting the CPT (Common Proficiency Test) to attempt CA course. Enrolment for the CA has increased by more than 100 per cent in the last 3 to 4 years, said a senior member of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India has also been maintaining high standards with the rise in demand as there is a value additional and up gradation of the course every three years. Apart from the regular course, the students have to undergo 100 hours of training in Information Technology that not only delves into fundamentals but touches upon database management and computerized accounting and audit techniques. Students can also register themselves on caresults.nic.in to get the results on their mail id, once result is published.
