As per the Ministry of Education Singapore (MOE) website -"MOE has informed schools on 21/6/2013 to cancel all school activities for the rest of the June vacation. Should the 24 hour-PSI level continue in the unhealthy range over the next few days, MOE will take guidance from the Inter-Agency Haze Task Force on the need for further action." This announcement provided by MOE refers to Singapore Government Schools that are currently having the 1-month June holidays. During this holiday period, schools organize extra-curricular activities for their students which includes OUTDOOR activities like camping, sports, uniform groups etc. All these OUTDOOR activities will be cancelled for the rest of the June holidays due to the current haze situation. This does NOT apply to class lessons conducted INDOORS in the confines of a covered, sheltered and air-conditioned environment. SSTC takes every action to ensure that we maintain a conducive and healthy environment within our premises. As of 5:00pm, the PSI index has dropped to 143 and we hope that it will continue to drop. IF the haze situation escalates again, and if students do not feel well enough to come to school on Monday, please fill up the Home Leave request form. If the student is below 18 years old, the form would require the Guardian/parents acknowledgment and signature.
