As predicted in our advisories yesterday, a surface low has developed on the OC Coast and it will move into the Oceanside areas of Northern San Diego County by tonight. North of this surface low will have a dry/cold arctic north wind so you’re already seeing the increase in winds in some VT/LA Valley areas and the same will be seen across the Inland Empire where our Wind Chills Advisory is present. At the current time the only bust zone was expected … Antelope Valley little to none … As the graphic shows, the surface low will move into position over Oceanside, San Diego County by 10pm tonight. This will drop the dewpoint allowing for snow to be possible north of there. At the same time, departing low level moisture at 6,000 feet will meet increasing moisture at 10,000 feet and this will be enough to spark off upper divergence profiles and heavy precipitation will explode over the areas shaded in pink. This is a very micro-scale type forecast meaning this will be localized to an area in the pink shading the size of Orange County. Sleet/Mixing was reported in Tujunga and Ojai … which verifies the Winter Weather Advisory thus far that we issued for those areas. Stay tuned for further updates as the next one is scheduled by 8pm on our Facebook Page …
