As previously mentioned, Im sick enough to confine myself to the house. However, Ive slept 18 of the last 24 hours and have accomplished the wopping tasks of making dinner and brushing my teeth today. Im getting a little stir crazy. Thus, captive internet audience, you get story time with Isobel: The last time Gary Numan played Boston (at least I think it was the last time) I actually got to go see him. On that occasion, he was the sick one. He had actually canceled the show before ours on the tour and a cancellation of the Boston one seemed likely up until the day of. But being the dedicated professional he is, Mr Numan did not cancel a second date and showed up to power through the Boston show at the Paradise. He played a full set even though his voice was clearly giving him trouble at the end. At the encore, he finally bowed to the needs of his vocal chords. With an apology to the audience and profuse thanks for putting up with his weak voice that night, he offered to play some of the crowd favorites for us, if we would sing them. The crowd cheered this on, so he then turned his mic stand around and started playing In Cars. The crowd cheered even louder and then started in where we were supposed to: Here in my car! ....mumbledadadadah... humdahdahdah....humdamumbledah-dah IN CARS!!
