As promised, the final photos of my 1:72 Revell conversion Red - TopicsExpress

As promised, the final photos of my 1:72 Revell conversion Red Jammer, based upon the elusive Y-Wing model that was made before ANH and never completed. The Revell Easykit is kind of disappointing out of the box, but with a little (read: a lot) of work, it can easily rival the detail of the Finemolds kit. I vacuum-formed a total replacement cockpit, scratch built the thrusters and control vanes, and replaced around 50% of the moulded surface detailing by shaving it off and referencing the original model to match the details accurately as possible. The base is made from Meranti, waxed then polished. I had a name plaque custom made, and knocked together a Death Star inspired surface tile. If youd like to read the build thread, ya can find it on the RPF: therpf/f11/red-jammer-revell-y-wing-conversion-212398/
