As salaamun Alaikum I have received various statement s from Muslim women who have been abused. I will never disclose their identity, but I am overwhelmed at their outcries. I started these two groups called “Prosecution of Faith Base Organizations not against Domestic Violence” and “Women in the Seerah of the Prophet Muhammad”, so that we could bring a voice to these women, stop the abuse and get the Masajids and Places of Worship back into the Sunnah of Allah, which involves providing human services to the community. I hope to accomplish these tasks with all of your help while also providing an invigorating flow of education and wisdom amongst ourselves. Whoever does righteousness, whether male or female, while he is a believer – We will surely cause him to live a good life, and We will surely give them their reward [in the Hereafter] according to the best of what they used to do. We have the examples of how we are to fight for these women whenever we discuss the Mother of the Believers and the Women of our Prophets. We are not supposed to use these women to control our women or give them unrealistic expectations. This is abuse! Umm Sawda is a prime example of what is wrong with most of the men in this Ummah. How we allow the sisters who have been abused and who have children feel as though that they have no other support but the oppressor is beyond unbelievable. Umm Sawda was a woman who lost her husband while in Hijra in Abyssinia, and Allah began the changes for the women of Mecca and the world by protecting them with His Words in the Holy Quran. I am so proud of Umm Sawdah and I am pleased to be able to share this information with all of you. Please let’s make a difference for our Ummah and for the Ummah of Women all over the world by working together on this Petition and keeping these groups growing educationally as well as spiritually. O you who have believed, it is not lawful for you to inherit women by compulsion. And do not make difficulties for them in order to take [back] part of what you gave them unless they commit a clear immorality. And live with them in kindness. For if you dislike them - perhaps you dislike a thing and Allah makes therein much good.
