As salamu alaykum! My name is Mary and I am planning to finally convert to Islam before Ramadan InshaAllah! I have been blessed to have many Muslim friends that have taught me about Islam for about three years. I have known that Islam was the truth for a long time, but was scared of all the changes and hardships that go along with making such an important decision. I now feel that this is the time and I need to take the leap and commit myself to Allah and to Islam. Recently I have been trying out hijab and find that it makes me feel beautiful and respected. InshaAllah some day soon I will be strong and brave enough to wear it full-time. I learned how to wear it mainly from hijabi YouTube videos that showed you can be both modest and stylish. It upsets me greatly to see the hateful, ignorant comments they get on their videos. I wish I could tell each of them how helpful they are to women like myself who want to start covering. Most people however are encouraging and respectful, just like the vast majority of the people on this page. It is so wonderful to feel part of the ever-growing community of hijabi sisters!
