As some of you already know, J.W. Marcus lost the battle with cancer last night around midnight. Him and his close brother ,Wayne have been my neighbors for years and have been GREAT friends to many people including myself. A simple , good hearted ,country boy that never bothered a soul and would have gave the shirt off his back (when you caught him wearing one) to anyone in need. Ive lived enough to know , people like that almost cease to exist anymore. JW got sick and down over the past several months and was in bad pain but you would hardly know it. He didnt want anyone sobbing over him. We would always sit around the fire and grill and he loved to near me play some old country songs. It always made him happy . I promised him Id play for him one more time like he kept asking over the past few months, but I never got that chance and he was always too much of a homebody to come out to a show So, tonight , in my own sense, I dedicate my acoustic show at Redzone BarandGrill to him. Im not sure of arrangements yet but they will be at Martins funeral home in Clanton R.I.P. brotha
