As some of you are aware, Ive been fighting with my pool for some time now... Instead of it being blue and clear, the water has been green and cloudy. Ive shocked it a couple of times and added clarifier and algaecide and all the normal things that SHOULD have fixed the problem, but to no avail. So... I spent this afternoon digging 275lbs of sand out of the sand filter and replacing it with fresh new sand. It only took about an hour and a half, but it was 106 degrees out and when working though the small hole in the top of the fiberglass filter one usually wears a long sleeve shirt to keep from getting fiberglass embedded in your arms. (Otherwise youre itchy for days) And even wearing gloves, both hands look and feel like I stuck them into a blender. Cuts everywhere... I swear... If changing the sand doesnt fix the problem, Im gonna drain the damned thing and open a mini skateboard park in it! :)
