As some of you know, I have been having bouts of atrial fibrillation (rapid irregular heartbeat) for about 15 years. Recently it has happened more frequently, so I have decided to get ablation done on my heart. I will undergo this procedure Wednesday October 8th 2014 at 8:00am at the Levinson Heart Hospital at Chippenham. It is a 2-4 hour procedure where they will insert catheters in my groin and run them to my heart. They will then find the hyper-active areas and freeze them, making a scar so the hyper-active nerve impulses can’t get through and throw my heart out of rhythm. I now ask you my family and friends, if you could carve out a minute of your Wednesday morning and say a prayer for me and the doctors, and send me healthy and healing vibrations, I would be grateful. I will have Sue tag me in her post so you can know how things went. I will spend the night in the hospital to be monitored. I should be home Thursday morning. The doctor says it a 2 day recovery. I will be taking 4 days because of the physical nature of my job. Dr. Farrell will be covering for me Wednesday and Dr. Holliday on Thursday. The clinic will be closed Friday.
