As some of you know, I have been on a journey reclaiming my heart. - TopicsExpress

As some of you know, I have been on a journey reclaiming my heart. As part of my journey, I have been asking God to lay the names of people on my heart that I need to reach out to and apologize and if possible reconcile with. While reading this morning these words left me breathless and with tears streaming down my cheeks. Sometimes forgiveness doesnt involve other people. At some time in our lives, most of us will encounter the need to forgive ourselves. We need to receive the forgiveness God has given us for our past mistakes and failures and release ourselves from the poor decisions that might have gotten us where we are. To show you how much God has a sense of humor, Pastor Larry Scott did an excellent sermon on Grace and forgiveness. While a short video was playing while our congregation family were singing, I grabbed my husbands hand, tears streaming from my face and as we knelt at the alter, I prayed for that Grace and forgiveness and honestly felt an indescribable peace. At that moment, our pastor knelt with us and prayed (almost verbatim) what I just prayed for in my life. This doesnt mean that Im going to stop seeking and praying for the people I have hurt and as God lays their names on my heart, I will be obedient and reach out somehow to ask forgiveness and restoration. I want to thank the sweet ladies who have surrounded me with the truth, grace, forgiveness and love while I continue this rough journey. Humility is not a fun thing to face but when you hit bottom and God takes you to your knees and you finally recognize your sins, humility is all you have left. Thank you to my friends and family who are loving and encouraging me during this time and thank you Lord for your grace, mercy, forgiveness and love.
