As some of you know, since I have moved into the city limits here in Seneca, I have seen a large variety of wildlife. Well, I just saw something worthy of an episode of Wild Kingdom. I was sitting on the front porch and across the street there is a pre-Civil War graveyard, some graves go back to the 1700s. It is quite beautiful. Well I heard the most horrible sound coming from the grave yard, and I cant wrap my mind around what could be making that noise. I then see the very large backside of a buck, at first I thought it was a horse, it was so large. It then turned around and sporting a huge rack of antlers and still making that terrible noise, I then realize that this animal is in a fight to the death with a coyote. The coyote may have gotten a few chunks of deer, but it just seems to have turned that buck into the freaking terminator deer. It is stomping and stomping that coyote into the ground and then goes at it with that huge rack of antlers. I have never seen a buck around here, or anywhere outside of a zoo for that matter. This was one big ole pissed off boy. I went back out a few minutes ago and he is still out there making a less frantic but loud bugling sound. I never saw the coyote again. My bet is on the fact that there is a dead coyote out there in that graveyard. Mr. bigass deer seemed to have won that match. Note to self, never piss off a buck with a head full of huge antlers. What a fight, such power that thing had, I never knew they grew that big and could be that vicious.
