As some of you may already know, Absolon did not get to play last night. We have been promoting and building up the show with anvil for a long time just to have it all screwed up by anvil. We were initially supposed to hit the stage for our short 30 minute set at 11:00 am. The third band was done around 10:15 so, we thought we would be going on around 10:30. The sucky anvil decided that they were going to go on instead which would have put us going on super late and AFTER anvil. The whole idea was to be the supporting act for anvil. It was very disrespectful coming from a band that should know how that feels...if you watched their Rocumentary. The crowd there to see them would have stayed for another 45 minutes while we did our short set. We have no doubt the crowd would have liked us. We would have even cut our short set shorter if they had just asked but hell, let us at least play. So, all of us drove a great distance to do a short set and then didnt even get to play. There were people there to see us too and they lost out. Just not right. Business is business and this was just bad business. We are a professional band with professional musicians. We have really good music and we put on a really good show. We were not going to be making any big money out of it. It was all about the opportunity to open for a better known act and getting our name out there. We do have to give a shout out to Sick Ross and Wolfman. They were as surprised as we were when all this happened and were very upset and sad that we got screwed. You two are appreciated by us brothers. You couldnt forsee anvil being jerks and, to be honest, I am personally still surprised by how they acted. I expected much more from a band that has been in the metal trenches for so long and they should have known better. I was not an anvil fan before this episode and Im really not a fan now. They could have won me over and would have had another fan in their ranks. But, we are playing the Deland Music Festival tomorrow so, its not a total loss. We hit the stage at 4-4:30 pm.
