As some of you may know our business was owned and operated by Daryl Stephens as Stephens Automotive. Daryl passed unexpectedly in February of this year, 2014. He had been in business nearly 30 years and we are so blessed to have earned the trust of his extensive clientele. The vast majority of these customers do not use social media and due to that fact we, Daryls wife and I, sent out introduction letters. We would like to share our portion on Seans background in the introduction letter with all of you. A little about Sean; Sean has been working on cars since he was a preteen and was the mechanic to the parents of his friends, his own parents acquaintances and his high school teachers. In his attendance at San Juan High School his knowledge to fix virtually anything was called upon by teachers and staff and he was given his own room for repairing different things on campus, i.e. computers, printers, etc. He began working professionally in the field of automotive repair at 20 years old in Fallbrook, CA at Indy Performance Pro tire. Because of his skill and natural mechanical ability he quickly went from lube service to one of the Lead Mechanics. After moving to Sacramento some years later he was employed as a manager/lead Mechanic of several Meineke shops. Sean left the industry professionally in 2005 but has remained a local mechanic and taking courses where and when he could for no reason other than his enjoyment of working and and learning about anything mechanical. He worked in the construction industry doing granite fabrication/installation at Marble & Granite Creations (as well as a handful of other shops) as a Foreman up to the opening of Thomas Automotive. Though that does seem like a far cry from automotive repair he was also the mechanic on all company vehicles and the engineer for the CNC machines and other industrial equipment, fork lifts, tech support for the computers and played the key role of contractor on the building for additions and improvements. His passion has and will always be mechanics, however his skill and knowledge spills into all different trades. While working in the field professionally he was ASE certified and he is currently working toward his ASE Master Technician certification. We are hoping to have his certification done by early to mid 2015. The knowledge is there but we want the plaque on the wall to prove it. You are never to good to brush up on the basics and he makes it a point to attend any local training by our parts vendors and is taking courses on Hybrid Technologies to stay current on new vehicles. We welcome you to come into the shop at anytime to meet us and ask any questions you may have. Dont wait until you have an automotive repair emergency/maintenance. When life happens we want you to already know that you are in skilled and fair hands at Thomas Automotive.
