As some you might have noticed we have suspended our Question of the Day contest in preparation for a huge March Madness contest. The teams competing this year do not get announced until this Sunday but we will get a head start and explain the rules early. Initially you pick one team and the farther that team goes in the competition, the more prizes you can win. For each round your team wins the more credit points you receive (1 round = 1 credit). The credits coincide with a prize (listed below). For example, if you pick Hofstra for the initial 64 teams and they go all the way (5 rounds), you could win up to a $50 gift card. But if Hofstra gets past the 64 then loses in the second round, you only win 3 pretzels. But if Hofstra gets past the first two rounds and into the sweet 16 you win 3 pretzels AND a drink (and this amounts to 2 credits). If you miss the initial round of picking teams, you can still play and win prizes! For example, someone doesnt start playing until after the first round where there are 32 teams left and picks Villanova, who advances to the sweet 16, then they win a free drink (but only have 1 credit). So, assuming both Hofstra AND Villanova are in the sweet 16, both players will have won a free drink, however, the person that selected Hofstra (during the original picking time) will also get the 3 free pretzels and have an edge, prize-wise, if Hofstra goes all the way (5 credits) as they selected them from the get-go. PRIZES PER ROUND: First round (one of the 32 teams left) or 1 credit= 3 free pretzels Second round (Sweet Sixteen) or 2 credits= A free drink Third round (8 teams left) or 3 credits= Lunch on us! ($5 maximum) Fourth round (Final Four) or 4 credits= Free Crowd Pleaser Fifth Round (Championship Winner)= $25 gift card OR $50 gift card if the winner is the team you initially picked in the 1st round You can cash in your credit points at any time during the March Madness contest. However, once you cash them in your points are gone and you may re-pick a new team. THE LAST CHANCE TO RE-PICK A NEW TEAM IS BEFORE THE SWEET SIXTEEN ROUND OF PLAY! We will post a bracket with the 1st 64 teams Sunday, March 16th at 3pm when you can pick your team by commenting on that post.
