As someone who believes in free market principals I support the sale of raw milk as long as the potential risks are provided to the consumers. With that being said if someone chooses to serve raw milk at a potluck the least the person should do is put a sign on the table or serving vessel. The overwhelming majority of people assume that when being served milk that it has been pasteurized considering that under current law the sale of raw milk is illegal. If my children were served raw milk at a potluck without their knowledge and got so sick that they lost 11 pounds I would give the parent a piece of my mind and then give the parent the choice of reimbursing me for my insurance co-pays I incurred as well as pay me for the time I had to take off work to care for my child due to their negligence or be the defendant in a lawsuit. I can promise you that IF I had to go to the lawsuit route that I would make the process as painful as possible.
