As someone who deals monthly with Immigration and obtaining permission for valid overseas workers to come to Australia and provide a service that cant be provided by a national here. For that is the core criteria you have to meet in getting a 457. This sickens me. Not only is it corrupt that workers are being encouraged to come here and then are being paid effectively only $7K a year, but it puts at rusk the workers safety and of those around them in not being able to speak English. As well it decimates the reputation of foreigners who are honestly coming to Australia to work and fill a vacancy that can not otherwise be filled, for that is the crux behind work visas. They are only if we dont have the people here.
