As the 41st Annual International #Jayday comes to a close in the - TopicsExpress

As the 41st Annual International #Jayday comes to a close in the Western Hemisphere, among the last of the time zones to celebrate this evolutionary milestone, I settle back with a cold bottle of stout and reflect on the wealth of friends and colleagues I have throughout the globe. This year, of my 2,186 friends, I received 288 birthday messages. This is 13.2% of my Facebook Universe. This is a nice improvement from last year, but I was still hopeful to break 15%. Shame on those of you who failed me. It has been noted, and you have been warned. Of that 13.2% that did pay proper due homage, congratulations! I will renew your friendships for another year. By far, my MMA community colleagues led the pack, followed by collegiate friends. To those from my AU days, I warmly accept your best wishes, and reciprocate in turn. Particular shout out to Stacey Ostfeld Steinmetz, who posted no less than FIVE TIMES!!! Take note, folks. She will receive exemplary commendation for her Facebook birthday performance above and beyond the call of duty. Of my MMA compatriots, the weight of my association to you will be proportionately measured to the word count in your post. HBD, Happy BDay, Happy Birthday, and Happy birfday will not be honored. And happy birthday-ers, you couldnt even bother to capitalize? How can you expect me to recognize this lackluster effort? Not enough birthday wishes from my current U of MMA fighters. Short of Roman Todorovich, Ryan Lilley, and the Dream Killers Jose Jovel and Demar George, Im quite disappointed in you. But shout out to the likes of Yumi Matsumoto, Alyson Goldsmith Carvalho and Khalid Shannon, who are welcome back anytime. If you draw an opponent that outranks you, theres nobody to blame but yourselves. Special shout out to my celebrity appearances, who, this year, include Lanny Poffo, Howard Web, and, perhaps most importantly, Godfather Art Davie, whom YOU ALL owe a debt of gratitude - because thanks to him, I have a career. Which makes me a nice person. Which makes you like me. So buy his new book Is This Legal?, now available on Amazon (amazon/This-Legal-Art-Davie-ebook/dp/B00L1DRCXI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1405582062&sr=8-1&keywords=is+this+legal%3F), AscendBooks (ascendbooks/Details.aspx?id=38), and all Barnes & Nobles outlets (barnesandnoble/w/is-this-legal-art-davie/1119450132?ean=9780991275649), and thank him. If you dont, just let me know and Ill unfriend you. Honorable mention for best posts include Stephanie Worley Drews, Brandt Stebbins, Darcy Loveless, Edward Lindenschmidt, Matthew Kreutzer (I cant front; that was funny), Jesse DAngelo, and Leon Tan. Well done, friends. Middle finger for those of you who lobbied for Kobashi chops this year. I know Ive made this an annual tradition, but to call for my physical exploitation for your own perverse entertainment makes you no better than the bloodthirsty audiences that attended Roman gladiator fights at the coliseum. And finally, congratulations to Billy Batz, who I believe will prove to be the final birthday post of the 41st Annual International #Jayday. Way to get it in just under the wire, pal. Until next year, may #Jayday thrive lively in your hearts for the next 364 days. The pleasure is all yours. -Jay, Managing Director.
