As the Christmas season approached, Open Hands Ministry had the joyful opportunity to serve the deaf people community in Chisinau and Balti, Moldova. This group of people are mainly relying on the minimally funded public assistance programs in Moldova. Job opportunities are extremely limited for this underprivileged group of people due to current social and econimic crisis in Moldova. Many of these deaf people have additional health problems such as low vision, that further impair their ability to work and provide for their families. Thanks to the donations and generosity of our sponsors, we were able to provide boxes of food that consisted of canned and unperishable items as well as sweets. It was such a blessing to be part of this project that insured a more nutritious and abundant Christmas dinner and to be able to show Christs love in action! A big thanks to our local volunteers who put in hours of work to help us succesfully achieve this projects goal!
