“As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love. If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love. “These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full. (John 15:9-11 NKJV) Being a Christian is about doing things Gods way. Not about being straight-laced, rigid and religious, but simply building a relationship with Jesus (abiding in Him), keeping His commandments (being a doer of the Word, not just a hearer) and loving one another. Submission to God in this way brings joy; not just a little bit of joy, but fullness of joy. God is not straight-laced, rigid and religious, so why should we be? Doing things Gods way is fun. It brings great joy. Definition of Joy--noun--the emotion of great delight or happiness caused by something exceptionally good or satisfying; keen pleasure; elation. Doing things the worlds way brings stress and misery, not joy. As you go about your day, think about your decisions. Is it Gods way or the worlds way? Does it bring joy or stress (misery)? If it doesnt produce joy, you might want to consider another direction.
